  • Avoid DMCA Notices: How to Play Music on Stream, NOT on VOD

Get a VPN you wildebeests: teksyndicate.com/pia/ Twitch has been a crazy place recently thanks to the RIAA and their attack on culture. Creators have been getting DMCA notices like crazy. This mostly happens because the RIAA uses software to scan through the VODs and flag them for copyrighted music. Twitch doesn’t defend you at all, they just release the video. At this point the RIAA isn’t scanning live streams (though we have heard of a couple rogue cases). If only you could remove the music just from the VOD while keeping it in for the stream. YOU CAN. The video will show you how to make it happen. Above is the easy version for people who just want to remove the music and not fuss with anything else. Here is the advanced version for users who want to understand what is really going on… and maybe isolate and map a few more audio channels: www.youtube.com/watch?v=te0axIQvTYg Important Links & Software: Soundtrack Beta – Twitch VB-Audio VoiceMeeter Banana PC Gaming Gear & Nerdy Apparel | Epic Pants Category: Hardware | Epic Pants

  • PC Gaming VS GPU Mining: Logan’s Two Cents | Rant:30

This week, Jay from JayzTwoCents made a video titled, “Is Crypto Currency Killing PC Gaming”. It’s sensational and it panders to the PC Master Race community, but it does little to address the problem (not much does and it sucks). It’s merely a circle jerk for hits. We have our own sensational video where we both agree and vehemently disagree with Jay’s righteous stance. Basically, we are all for gaming and all for crypto currency. Check it out and let’s get this discussion started.  Keep it civil. • Logan Destroys Ben Shapiro “Breaking Down” Net Neutrality

Ben Shapiro shouldn’t deserve to be legitimized or even recognized. However, his recent statements regarding net neutrality have been sent to me by more than a few people. I’ve even see some say, “If Ben says something then it’s right.” I understand that many are too lazy to think for themselves so they’d rather have a hateful weasel do it for them. However, this is bigger than any of that. We don’t need bullshit like this spreading around online. The internet is too important. Here are some reference links: Internet backbone as of 1992 shown here: hothardware.com/news/net-neutrality-slated-for-december-14th-vote qz.com/256586/the-inside-story-of-how-netflix-came-to-pay-comcast-for-internet-traffic/ Chad Henshaw’s comment to this insane post is great: https://www.attpublicpolicy.com/broadband/who-should-pay-for-netflix/ Feel free to share some more links. • The Best VPNs: Our Top Five | Speed, Privacy, Logging, Jurisdiction, Etc.

This day and age, it is very important to have a VPN.  As it stands, your ISP can see everything you are doing, and they log it for six months or more. This information is there, waiting to be sold, subpoenaed, etc. So, you really need that VPN. First, a VPN allows you to browse the internet privately. It creates an encrypted tunnel to a different server, then you browse the internet from there. So, you use their client (or openVPN) and connect to their server. Your ISP (and other prying eyes) just see a raw stream of data. They don’t know if you are browsing Reddit, watching YouTube videos, or shopping for snakeskin jackets. They have no clue. Check out the video for all the information on our favorite VPN providers. Let us know what you think in the comments. • Killing Net Neutrality: The FCC & The Big ISPs Plan For the Internet

There are three kinds of people: Those who understand technology, those who are clueless, and those who will do anything for money. Most of the people in key, decision making positions are in the third category (including FCC chair, Ajit Pai). This isn’t going to be a full article, the rest of the internet has written plenty on the subject. Instead, I’m going to list out everything this FCC would like to accomplish (as I see it). Let’s not forget that Ajit Pai’s FCC is basically a subsidiary of the big players in the ISP field at this point. He used to be a lobbyist for them and is still acting that way. He ignores the public 100% of the time, has allowed Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, etc. to basically ghost write everything, and seems to have an agenda that would set us way back compared to the rest of the world. So, what does this FCC want to do? Let’s get started: Remove blocks that keep single companies from owning all the local TV stations – Done this morning Reverse net neutrality – the implications here are huge Block local and municipal internet (they will fight this on every level) …

  • Firefox is Back | Firefox Quantum is “Faster Than Chrome”

I am writing a post using Firefox; dawn of a new day. I’ve always used Firefox for front-end development because it is light years ahead when it comes to viewing source, messing with CSS in the browser, but it was always slower and clunkier than Chrome. Here is a short list of what Mozilla is claiming about Firefox 57 (Quantum): A new engine that is 2x faster 30% lighter than Chrome, the RAM eater Private browsing and tracking protection New standards for extensions (many old ones will stop working) See the rest here: www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/ In my own testing, I am seeing that it is neck and neck with Chrome, but slower in HTML5. Hopefully the team at Mozilla keeps moving in this direction. Here’s a major benefit: you can move away from the “all seeing eye” of Google and start using a browser from a company that has a much better track record (Mozilla). The privacy features are nice and the company credo is one about community and progress over data monitoring and profits. You can stop relying on Google to save your passwords, bookmarks, etc. (all things they use to paint a picture of your digital life) and start …

  • Cheapest Resident Evil 7 in New PC Gaming Summer Sale

  • Cheapest Ryzen 7 1800X + big Bethesda Sale

It’s the Summer of desktop processor deals, as we’ve been finding them week after week the last two months. Our running theory is that crypto mining has spurred demand and inflated prices on GPU’s, but these mining machines do not have the same processing demands one would be building an “ultimate gaming rig” with. Mining builds with Intel Celeron power saving processors and three GTX 1060’s are common for example. This CPU deal theory especially applies to Ryzen. The Walmart owned Jet.com just released two new coupon codes which stack with instant savings on the Ryzen 7 and Ryzen 5 desktop processors. The result is the best Ryzen prices online for AMD’s newest processors and historic lows on the highest end Ryzen 7 1800X and lowest end Ryzen 5 1400. The Ryzen 7 1800X originally launched at $490 in Feburary and runs $420+ elsewhere online, but is down to $379.99 after coupon ITSELECTRIC40 at Jet. The Ryzen 5 1400, the cheapest of all Ryzen’s, originally was priced at $170 but is now only $135 after coupon at Jet. The Ryzen 7 1700, Ryzen 5 1600, and Ryzen 5 1600X were available yesterday but have since sold out, meaning these offers …

  • The cheapest Core i5-6600K & Ryzen 7 1700X

With the price of Bitcoin and Ethereum falling, video card prices are starting to return to “normal” levels. Oh, what’s that? Uh, huh… This just in, Bitcoin has gone banana’s and is returning to previous highs. Buy all the video cards in stock at your local Best Buy and start mining again. In all seriousness, we were starting to get back to normal in the world of video cards, but just today we noticed most of the good GPU deals were bought up again. This week crytpo went on a rise, but if for some reason you’re still planning a new build (and move quickly if you want a GPU at an only slightly-inflated price) there are still good desktop processor deals to be had. Walmart has last year’s Core i5-6600K CPU reduced to $167.24 with a Store Pickup discount – a historic low. Also at its lowest price to date is the Ryzen 7 1700X dropping to $290 after coupon at Jet. In the world of PC gaming good deals are scattered all over the map. DLGamer has the best price ever on NieR: Automata with a drop to $39.99. Civilization VI is $29.88 at GamersGate in a “Mac” …

  • Ryzen 5 & 7 coupon discounts + XCOM 2 expansion 26% drop

Ready to build with Ryzen. Nothing will start your build off better than a good processor discount. This week several Ryzen 5 and 7’s are going on sale for their lowest prices ever at various retailers. On the cheaper side is the Ryzen 5 where eBay has a 20% off coupon applying to both the 1500X and 1600X slashing them to $150.39 and $199.99 respectively – both new lows. Amazon has the best price do date on the Ryzen 7 1700 with a drop to $270 while Jet has the one tier higher Ryzen 1700X for $305 after coupon. Did you pick up XCOM 2 during the Steam Summer Sale? Already beat it? More content is on the way and out August 28 in the XCOM 2: War of the Chosen expansion. While a $40 purchase on Steam, GMG has it this weekend on sale for only $29.51 after coupon. If you need the XCOM 2 base game, it’s actually cheaper this weekend than the $20 Steam sale price with a drop to $17.09 at the WinGame Store. While the eBay coupon code this weekend only works at select reatilers, and much hardware is exclusded with the code, one more …

  • Cheapest Wolfenstein II after E3 Upcoming Games Coupon & the last cheap GTX 1080s

Wolfentstein II, Star Wars Battlefront II, The Evil Within 2, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2, and 14 other reboot (and non-reboot) titles coming out this fall are getting discounts up to 26% off at GMG. The discount comes via a new 18% off coupon which stacks with what GMG is calling “VIP” instant savings. Just login or create an account to get the VIP price and stack the 18% coupon for a combined 26% mark down. We think this is about as good as pre-order discounts are going to get this year. It was only last week we reported the last GTX 1060 for $229, and other reasonably price GPUs at ‘normal’ price levels. It’s safe to say crytpo mining continues to drive prices up and probably will continue to do so until the new mining-specific GPUs come online later this year. Prices are even worse than last week with the exception of one GTX 1070 at Dell. The PNY 1070 has dropped to $405, and while in April this year we often saw GTX 1070’s under $350, they normally now sell for $500+ (many sell for over $600). In fact those inflated GPU prices have moved to the more …
