MASSIVE Forum Upgrade – New Q&A Posts, Email Fixed, & Join With Steam, ETC.
It has been a long time. The forum hasn’t been functioning properly; activation emails wouldn’t go out, YouTube embeds were broken, it was slower than it should have been, and there were some errors under the hood. Well, I (Logan) finally decided to do things myself. At first I did the website and had someone local help me with the forum. Things happened and the local help got busy so I left it alone. Well, after a while I decided it was time to just do it myself. So, there are tons of upgrades. We Are All in an Abusive Relationship With YouTube | Vlog
Several years ago I was sitting with several YouTubers/content creators. I remember one telling me that I was crazy for wasting time creating a website when I should just be focusing on YouTube, instagram, Twitter, etc. I replied with, “It’s all good now, but you realize we are all building our house on someone else’s property.” The real issue is that YouTube is where the audience is. There are several options and Twitch is the only other one that has a large enough user base to make sense, but I’m not sure if that is our audience or not. Otherwise there is D.tube and Dlive. They both work (usually), but the learning curve might be rough for the casual crowd. The other idea is, “Just make content and use Patreon as your income.” Well, we wouldn’t make ends meet this way. For reference, when it was at it’s best it was covering about 1.2 salaries. That left office rent, money for Pistol and I to live on, money for bills and projects, taxes, etc. It’s crazy expensive to run the business. EA Will Reach 1 Million Reddit Downvotes for Defending Microtransactions
I present, the most downvoted comment in Reddit history: This was posted in response to outrage regarding how much unlocking new characters would cost (It’s about twice what you’d expect to pay for a very polished, new indie game). To be fair, you can earn enough points to unlock new characters… after about 40+ hours of gameplay. The bottom line here is that EA makes way more money with the new business model of micro-transactions than they ever did when standard game sales. It is the future of AAA gaming. The gaming industry is larger than the film industry now. Even 15 years ago, things were very different, but things have changed. This is corporate gaming. Here’s another interesting fact: So, they are the worst company in the USA, yet somehow we keep buying their shit. They can’t abuse us if we don’t let them. It’s time to walk away from this. It’s time to explore some niche games, indie games, and older games we may have missed (play one of the hundreds of games you spent money on and never touched). Clearing The Air: Logan’s Final Statement Regarding the Tek Syndicate Drama
Here is my statement on the drama. I should have done this a long time ago, but I did not know all the information that had been given to the audience. It’s saddening that so many things were made public in an attempt to harm me or Tek Syndicate. I would say that whomever released such documents was wishing to cause harm and they are not a friend of the community. I believe most of it to be spin, petty, hearsay, etc. I could have been better at keeping records, managing the books, keeping accounts separate, and communicating. Lessons leaned. Every word, every post, everything I did was analyzed under a microscope. It was interesting from an observational standpoint, but the drama has severely harmed our ability to conduct business, create content. For those of you who keep pointing out that I took down the website. Yes, I did take it down. I was changing every password due to my worries regarding Qain. Nerdiest Place in Portland? | Guardian Games Tour
Logan and Justin went to check out one of Portland’s nerdiest spots – Guardian Games. Guardian Games has games, miniatures, memorabilia and everything else you could possibly want filled up to the ceiling. They host numerous gaming events throughout the year where people can come and hang out, compete, and meet some people with similar interests. The people were great, the building was awesome, and we had fun being there.
