Cooler Master Announces Case Mod World Series 2017

Cooler Master has partnered up with Intel, ASUS, Nvidia, HyperX and Dremel to give the best modders up to $40,000 in cash and prizes. Winners will see GPUs, processors, cases, and a whole lot more.

I’m relatively new to the scene but I always was under the impression that Cooler Master was always a strong supporter of their modders – and it makes sense why. Usually when people mod their products, they get direct feedback on what works and doesn’t work for their products. Companies like Cooler Master can take what people have done with their gear and develop something new and innovative for their next line-up. This similar mentality exists with overclocking as well (if you haven’t watched it already, you should watch our Galax Overclocking Carnival video to see what I’m talking about).

One of Last Year’s Winners (Subs available)
This is their eight installment of the Case Mod World series. It so happens that it is their 25th anniversary as a company, so they added a “bonus category” to this year’s contest to encourage people to highlight Cooler Master’s history. “With this being the 25th year of our company, we wanted to pay tribute by inviting modders to participate in the biggest modding event in the community with a bonus category for $2500 in cash,” said Raymen Wu, Marketing Director.

People wishing to enter need to submit their creations from February 3rd to May 3rd, 2017. Registration deadline is March 31st. To find out more on registration and prizing, visit their site here.

What do you think about this? Do you think these events are great for the art of modding, or do you think people might start doing it for the wrong reasons when the prizing gets this good? Let me know in the forums!
