Orico has labeled this M.2 as “industry-grade.” So, we will look into what that entails. It’s extremely fast for a PCIe 4 M.2 NVMe Drive.
They have also set a portion of the drive aside to simulate SLC performance. So, this portion is holds one bit per cell and acts as a caching pool. This means much faster game loading, etc.

Did you have a chance to test it as a OS drive? Do you think it would make a perceptible difference, or are we chasing diminishing returns?
I haven’t yet. I’m building a new PC in a week, so I might test this out. You won’t likely fill up the cache when using it as an OS drive. You will feel a difference in comparison to drives that do 5000 mbps for sure.
