Honestly, the turbo switch helps a lot. I really appreciate the ability to swap voltages on the fly. So, if I want a quiet experience, I crank it down... playing BG3? Crank it up. As for the system, it's a slightly larger case than most mini PCs, but it's vertical... meaning it may take up less space on your desk. It's also the easiest mini PC to open; a simple magnet and holds the side panel on (it has hooks to keep it in place). So, I grabbed a WD Black 2 TB SN740 M.2. Why not a WD_Black 2 TB SN770M? Well, the SN740 was on sale. I've also seen some tests that say it uses slightly less power meaning the Steam Deck will have a longer battery life, but I'm not sure if this is really that big of a dea. The SN740 might have a longer life... tests show it getting slightly warmer... But really, they are almost identical. Get the one that is on sale.
