Free speech, privacy, and distribution problems leading to piracy. There are several paradigm shifts coming. Can the "powers that be" stifle innovation or will they be forgotten beside the road of history.

goddamnit, youtube put the sound out of sync for me..... fuck you google

posted 1 year 2 months ago

is it just me or is the voice lagged?...

posted 1 year 2 months ago

Is it just me (or my computer) or is the sound out of sync?

posted 1 year 2 months ago

The sound IS pretty badly synced for me, as well.

posted 1 year 2 months ago

It synced wrong but then fixed itself. Not sure what is going on...

posted 1 year 2 months ago

The sound goes out of sync at about fifty seconds because the video skips ahead, but it gets fixed once the video cuts again (or eventually)

Living in Ireland and am very happy about the the potential of the new jobs in the tech industry in this country, especially since intel is potentially making another 5000 jobs from the other few thousand jobs which they already contribute to this industry in our country.

He isn't any of the chaotic's. He doesn't act chaotically in his functions, he has a clear plan. In 1.5e Chaotic alignments are defined as acting on whims. Evil: killing or stealing just because you can, not because you need it. Neutral: Aim is to inspire chaos into the world. Saving a battalion of soldiers, then launchiung a fireball into them because they said something about mushrooms. Good: Think paladin and their code. No matter what happens they destroy evil. Even neutral evil they rid the land of.

logan seems like good or neutral chaotic....

I'm confused. If intel isn't going to be making motherrboards. How are they going to make the CPU that's built into the motherboards. unless this is part of their scheme.

posted 1 year 2 months ago

let me clarify. intel is no making DESKTOP mobos. they are still making SOC and BGA mobos

I have to disagree with/correct the comment about "low-level access to the GPU". It's not a matter of access, but compatibility. I will try to keep this as short as possible and without too much technical jargon. Hopefully without oversimplifying.

The closer (e.g lower "level") you operate to the hardware, the more specialized it becomes to that specific piece of hardware. That means you will face severe compatibility issues if you switch it out for a different piece of hardware. This is the reason those low-level technological feats are done with consoles only, because the hardware is always the same you run no risk of compatibility issues.

If we (PC developers) programmed directly to the CPUs and GPUs we would have to modify our code for every one of them out there, which is obviously impossible. This is why we develop for APIs like OpenGL and DirectX, in exchange for the application running on a "higher level" (less efficiently) the hardware compatibility shot through the roof because the API takes care of all the low-level hardware-specific stuff.

Hopefully that wasn't too hard to understand. In short, we should strive to improve our APIs rather than bypass them.

Hey Logan, you should join us in doing this.

Frag Cake Challenge

Challenge Rules (Last Updated 12/4/2012).

  1. You must beat every single player game from start to finish on any difficulty.

1a. With large RPG/Sand box games like Skyrim, you must complete the main story line and the main story line in all DLC expansions you own (ie. Dawngaurd).

1b. In games where there is no ending or main story line (ex. Terraia and Sim City). You must play at least 10 hours.

1c. If a game is far too difficult for you to complete (Super Meat Boy) you must complete 15 hours before rule 1 is satisfied.

  2. You must play at least 7 hours of PvP multiplayer or complete every single co-op mission (ie. Left 4 Dead).

2a. If a game has both you can either play one or the other (ie. Team Fortress 2).

  3. You can either start from ascending or descending order; however, you are not allowed to skip any game except for a few exceptions.

3a. You can skip a game if playing a game have become impossible in situations like the following:

.Banned from multiplayer (if the game has single player, you must play single player component) .An online game (like a MMO) is no loner supported. .Your machine is not powerful enough to run the game. .Your OS or chipset is not supported. .Unresolvable issues that make installation or running the game impossible.

3b. If you already have satisfied rules 1 and 2 on any game then playing that game is optional.

3c. You may skip a game if there are essentially duplicates in your library (ex. You have both Half-Life and Half-Life: Source), but you must play one or the other. (this also includes Betas (ex., Team Fortress 2 Beta))

3d. Game Jumping is allowed in situations where you would like to play a series of games in a particular order (such as order of release or in chronological order). In these situations you may jump a head to complete the franchise, once completed you have to go back and continue on as normal.

3e. If you buy a new game, you must go back and satisfy rules 1 and 2.

3f. If it is in your library, you have to play Amnesia to the end you fucking baby. Nut up man, it's just pixels.

We spent our hard earned money on these games so lets finally play them!

Join us at our official steam group too!

Or just play whatever games you like playing, as much and when you like, be it offline or on steam or any platform. It's your fault in the first place if you bought games that you don't intend playing.

Regarding the Facebook app that allows to record audio/video without requesting permission, the same goes for Skype, it also has the same Hardware Controls as the Facebook app.

Another reason to shun Facebook/Skype.
