14:35: You didn't provide context, so I'm assuming you are referring to the bitfloor.com incident. Saying Bitcoin is broken just because someone hacked into an exchange, stole their private keys, and emptied their wallet is like saying gold is broken because someone robbed a bank.

WOW! The Indiegala looks almost exactly like humblebundle. Jebus Chrisp on a buddist waffer, if they were apple they should sue. I wonder how long before charities will start suing each other for copyright infringment? Who was first to beg for money?  Now if you excuse me Charity is about to give me a lapdance.

Why are datacaps bad? In Canada, we've had datacaps for YEARS. I currently have a 250GB datacap, and I download mounds of torrents every day, including games, movies, game from steam, stream movies through netflix, etc. 250 GB is enough to allow me to do almost everything I want to do (I haven't streamed anything yet), so why is 300GB so ludicris?

posted 1 year 7 months ago

Data caps are bad because it's another means for the ISP to gain profit over artificial scarcity. They claim they are getting too much traffic, but this has been already stated that it is not the case, just a case of greedy ass corporations.

posted 1 year 7 months ago

yes i agree Data caps are bad, dam greedy ass ISP :(

posted 1 year 7 months ago

If it's that big of a deal, then stay within the data cap (Isn't that hard, 300GB/month is a shit ton), or pay for the unlimited plan.

posted 1 year 7 months ago

It's not the idea of staying with in the data cap, it's the fact that ISPs claim they don't have the bandwidth, which has been proven otherwise upteen times over.  It's also the idea of getting people to do as you said, pay the extra money, and it's bullshit to pay that extra, Comcast for example RAKES in billions in profit due to caps.  And Canada is even worse, the ISPs are just as bad as Comcast in that sense, they saw a profit mine, and what do they do?  They shove a rod so far up peoples asses about it, that it is god damn absurd.  Stand up man, fight the ridiculous fees they try to put on people.

the grey and abriham lincoln vampire hunter for 2012

and sucker punch, Paul, and Horrible Bosses for 2011

posted 1 year 7 months ago

Sucker Punch was garbage, original, somewhat, it was Alice in Wonderland, Paul, a remake idea of E.T., Horrible Bosses, which is technically an expansion on the Office Space idea and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.  ALVH is just Blade with good ol' Abe, and The Grey, can't remember the name, but the idea has been redone so many times through out movie history, yes it was interesting, some what, but it was boring.  And if you are wondering, yes I am a film snob, and yes I am a cynic :)

 sucker punch is awsome :)

Logan, you would love quebec, i pay almost a 100 for a 90gb cap at 15 mbit speeds. Robbery!

posted 1 year 7 months ago

I'm in Quebec as well. Teksavvy is the only option for anything > 6mbps down. Currently with Bell and it's straight up robbery.

posted 1 year 7 months ago

$60 for 60gb / month for adsl2+ speeds, but because of my location I get a max of about 500kb/s down. My isp is pretty good with unmetered content though.

posted 1 year 7 months ago

Logan, it pains me to hear that you hate movies. If you ever want a kick-ass sci-fi movie list to watch, I can most surely deliver a top 10 or top 20 for you.

posted 1 year 7 months ago

He doesn't hate movies, he's a lot like me in that respect, I can't stand mainstream Hollywood regurgitated horse shit.  Now indie films, there are a lot of interesting independent films.

posted 1 year 7 months ago

$100/month, 25 Mbps down, 2 Mbps up. No bandwith cap. Local privately owned ISP. I live in a small town in Canada.

posted 1 year 7 months ago

Currently my ISP is a terrible company that goes by the name of SkyBeam. I am paying 54 dollars a month for next to nothing. 10 Mbps down(True speed is 4 Mbps down)  and 5 Mbps up(True speed is 1.5 Mbps up) with a 100Gb data cap. That comes with their fastest plan. They've done some terrible things to me over the years, like adding gigabytes of data towards the 100Gb cap and then going over it and charging me 16 dollars extra for every 10Gb I rise over the cap. Not to mention the service is intermittent in the winter time. I hate companies that make money off of non existent problems but unfortunately I have no other options due to the fact that I live in a rural area. Maybe I should move to Kansas and switch to Google Fiber while it is available.
