Who would want to steal maple syrup?

posted 3 years 1 day ago

that was shogun not shotgun, something from old japan back in the samurai days.  Loving the chant/opera thing at the end.  And apparently in a room that echoes, you are able to hear smaller sounds more crisper, its not that bad, maybe if you find the right ratio of ehoe and absorbtion.  Really liking Qain being back, one thing I would like to see the return of is Cooking with RazetheWorld/Tek Syndicate

Ignorance about cloud computing greatly benefits me: I'm a freelance writer and clients come to me about it online.

Makes me money.

Fishing ??????? LMAO

posted 3 years 1 day ago

AH damnit! Fishing would be awesome. We will have to get some cider (or red wine) for Qain, lol. I am flying back to KY tomorrow... I should be back up soon.

Come to Chicago. We'll go to the Two Brother's Brewery and we'll have some imperial stouts.

Excellent Tek as usual, AND NOW I KNOW WHERE YOU ARE HIDING MWUAHAHAHAH. No, no malicious intent here.

posted 3 years 1 day ago

This Tek felt a little more relaxed, but great content as always. Hope to see more Qain soon as he tends to disappear pretty often. I'm not too far from NY, maybe an hour and forty five minutes or so, maybe we could throw a LAN party or something in the near future.

Qain is my hero.

Waking up in the afternoon and watching 2 metal dudes talk about tech... it's a dream come true. *tear*

Now I know what it feels like to be one of those people that get up and have there coffee and watch good morning america except I'm not (insert whatever you like).

I still don't understand why he uses Apple products....

posted 3 years 1 day ago

If you're talking about Qain...sometimes when you work as a sys admin, you get tools to use, whatever the brand may be.

posted 3 years 1 day ago

On the same note, don't most sys admins have one device for administration and an additional device for personal use? I'm not going to poke and pry about it; He can use what he wants. I just thought it was odd.

The laptop in the video is my personal laptop.  The company I work for is a mac shop, as most of us hate dekstop support, it reduces the problems we have.   (though it creates a lot more headache on a control through the network side.)   I have many apple products that I have to use on a day to day basis...  I keep trying to figure out legit uses that are not playing games for the iPad....  so far i haven't really found any...  though it makes reading my email pretty handy....  I still wouldn't buy one just for that...  I would rather get an ASUS PadFone.

What I was getting at, but left the explaination to you.  And I will agree with Mac networking, total pain in the dick, and you know what's worse, a mixed network of Mac and PC, all on the same domain, or at least trying to work on the same domain, complete F7U12 moment, and throwing a keyboard at the wall.

I agree with Qain, beer taste like... I don't even know, but it's not good. I'm more of a whiskey guy. Logan, I don't know if you like whiskey much but if you do and you ever come to Canada you should try Alberta Premium whiskey with Dr. Pepper, I tried it and it's my new favourite drink.

posted 3 years 1 day ago

As much as I love a good single malt scotch...give me the darkest fucking beer that exists and I'll be a happy camper.

posted 3 years 1 day ago

Enjoyed it. Kerp them coming. Always nice to see Qain.

posted 3 years 1 day ago

Qain referenced homestar runner.... he referenced my whole child hood!

posted 3 years 1 day ago

syrup filter... i think you might need a custom pump to go with that.

posted 3 years 1 day ago

I remember how I joined TS community...through youtube..where Logan promised to come to Brooklyn and I could work for him...now he's flying back to KY...smh

Favorite beer everyone? Mine are: Unibroue's La fin Du Monde (EVERYONE loves this beer, whether they like beer or not) St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout and Dieu du Ciel's Aphrodisiaque.

posted 3 years 1 day ago

Mine would be Delirium Tremens, though on a hot day I can enjoy a Boon Kriek as well.

Also really enjoyed this week's episode. As others have stated, it seemed more relaxed.

On another note: am I the only one who thinks Qain looked a bit like Adam Jensen from Deus Ex with those glasses?

Check this shit out, Turnkey Linux have made a virtual appliance for own cloud: http://www.turnkeylinux.org/owncloud

Jut need to install that into VirtualBox on a PC with internet access, set the network adaptor to bridged then forward the ports on your router and you have your own cloud. (might have to setup dynamic dns (no-ip.com) if you don't have a static IP)

OK here we go. I saw this story and now you reminded me about it so I did the math. Maple syrup must reach a certain viscosity for lack of a better word in order for it to be classified as pure. When that is achieved the syrup weighs approximately 11pounds, 2.2 oz. per gallon. The thieves now have 892,857.14 gallons of syrup. In order to transport that much syrup they would need 30, 18 wheeler trucks with a liquid capacity of 30,000 gallons each. The last truck would only be 3/4 full.  Amazing what you can find out there in the "cloud."
