According to GizChina, a Chinese manufacturer has created an iPhone 5 knockoff using leaked photos and designs. The GooPhone i5, as it's being called, has apparently been patented for its design. This could effectively block the sale of the Apple iPhone 5 in China.
The specs of the Android-based GooPhone are as follows: Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.4Ghz CPU, 1GB RAM, Android 4.0 ICS with an iOS 6 theme, 8 mega-pixel rear camera, and a 4 inch screen with retina display resolution of 1280 x 720.
Considering the recent legal activities of Apple, I find this amusing. Of course it's incredibly scummy behavior on GooPhone's part, but I can't help but think that Apple is getting a dose of its own medicine.
