The Store

Refunds and Returns
Tek Syndicate does not issue refunds or accept returns on memberships or digital goods. Tangible goods (shirts, posters, etc.) may not be returned and no refunds will be given. If the goods arrive damaged we will replace it with a new, identical item. You must return the damaged item so that we may inspect it before we ship you the new one.
Memberships are paid in advance. They can be paid for monthly (you pay for the upcoming month) or yearly (you pay for the upcoming year in full). Memberships will automatically renew unless you cancel before the end of your current term.
You may cancel your membership at any time. It will expire at the end of your current term (it will essentially disable the auto-renew function). You will not be refunded for any remaining time left on your current membership term. In plain English: If you pay for one year (in full) and cancel in two months you will not be given a refund for the remaining 10 months. Your subscription will end at the end of your term and will not automatically renew.

As I understand it, membership=registered user. They don't currently charge a "subscription" but reserve the right to do it in the future.

You're a responsible adult of legal age

You understand that you are expected to not fuck with other members of the community or those who administer the community.

You're not going to  use the site as part of a money making venture.

If you buy a product based on advice or a review on the site and it sucks, they aren't responsible.

If the site goes down and you get PTSD, they ain't gonna pay the medical bills.

Don't hack the site.

Just because they cut you slack in one situation, it doesn't mean they can't drop the hammer next time.

If you wanna get litigious, New York State law is what matters.

"By accessing this site or using any part of the site or any content or services hereof, you agree to become bound by these terms and conditions"

Pretty sure that isn't exactly how it works, as the terms and conditions are a part of this site, and you cant bind them by looking at it.

I felt it was necessary to just inform you of a reply to the thread so that more immediate action could be taken.  No clue if this actually reaches you sooner or not.

I'm not a lawyer, paralegal nor do I study law.  Sorry if the language is incorrect but I never graduated college because it was hard.

When you signed up you created an account that stated that you agreed to these.

The service provider reserves the right to restrict access to non registered members.

The mod probably doesn't understand what you're saying because of the above statements.  Even if the service provided only offered services to registered members they must provide and present a copy of all binding documents.  Documents must be in common language native to the area, if you can't read the language for any reason a translation must be provided.  Since there are accessibility tools on computers now this pretty much eliminates the need for extra document formats.  Reading the document does not bind you.  However clicking the accept terms and conditions when you create the account you should be fully aware that you are now bound as you just signed away part of your soul with a mouse click.  It's okay though, this place is trying to protect your soul as much as they can by educating you.

P.S. It has been away since I signed up for this site.  If by any means there is not an agreement checkbox [that is unchecked by default!] or dialog box that you must click that EXPLICITLY says (this is a loose translation) "agree to the chillax tos and the NSA privacy statement".  You guys should fix that, like yesterday.  *cough cough*  NO SERIOUSLY GO FIX IT NOW!  Having it at the bottom of the page is not acceptable since it's mainly white space on the page due to the "feed" on the right.  This can be construed as trying to hide the agreement.

edit: Just in case some moron decides to be stupid... If you are an asshole at McDonald's they don't have to serve you!  In fact they can call the police and have you physically removed from the property if you're doing anything they don't like, which includes not saying please and thank you because it can be construed as rude to their employees.  While this is far-fetched and impractical; legally they can still do it and you can't do anything about it.  If you were an asshole and you want to exact revenge on the people here - go fuck yourself because "We reserve the right to ban your account and block your participation for any reason though this would almost always be down to bad behavior."
