Play Deus Ex in 2022 With Vanilla-Friendly Mods | Just do These Three Things
You only need three things to play Deus Ex on modern PCs 1. Kentie’s Launcher Kentie’s Launcher replaces your DeuEx.exe file with a new one. Download Kentie’s Deus Ex Launcher here: kentie.net/article/dxguide/ Download required Visual Studio 2015 runtimes: vcredist_x86.exe Drag and drop this into your Deus EX\System directory Overwrite files Note, I’m using a dark theme on Windows, so it’ll look a little different. 2. DirectX or openGL? If you are on Windows (or are ok using DirectX on Linux) you can use the DirectX 9 settings for a moody atmosphere similar to the original game. If you want perhaps better contrast but slightly less dramatic lighting, OpenGL works well. For either you need to tweak the ini files. Blizzard Mocks EA and Pay-to-Win Microtransactions In New Video
Blizzard, right on the heels of the EA turmoil, has released a commercial for now free to play StarCraft II. The timing is interesting but Blizzard was surely working on this before the EA drama on Reddit. Here is the video: Blizzard is an AAA developer and they are damn good at making money. This puts them in an interesting position. They have spoken out against pay-to-win and will now be held to that standard by the community. Whenever a developer/publisher as large as Blizzard releases something free I am always looking for the catch. It looks like StarCraft II will support itself with micro-transactions including announcers, cosmetic upgrades, and a few heroes that can be used in co-op or single player (as to not give you an competitive edge). There hasn’t been and forced grinding to entice you to pay to unlock items, characters, etc. (as is all the rage with AAA publishers these days). I think the commercial is pretty funny, but that’s me. I have to continue to play the cynic. This is a “good-guy” move that merely is pandering to the crowds at this point. Rise & Shine, the latest from Adult Swim Games and Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team, is a solid side scrolling cover shooter that is also a magical little slice of hell. If you’re the kind of gamer that really enjoys hard games, this is probably up your alley. In the game you play as Rise, a kid who lives in classic video game land. The land is invaded by next gen consoles and space marines are laying waste to everything with their advance lvl. 999 robots. Along with your partner Shine, a sassy gun who grants infinite lives, you must battle through screen after screen and boss after boss of invaders to save everything. So admittedly, I’m not a fan of super tough devil games like Dark Souls and whatnot. I like enjoying the play through and not having to spend hours going up against the same boss over and over. Morrowind Makes a Comeback?! | ESO Announcement
That’s right – Elder Scrolls fans will rejoice after hearing they can re-experience some of Morrowind in Elder Scrolls Online. According to Bethesda, outside of a new location to the game, players can also expect a new player class, a PvP mode (which they’re calling Battlegrounds), a trial and much more. I know a lot of people, including myself, were kind of discouraged with the direction of Elder Scrolls Online initially but from what I’ve heard from friends – the last few updates and additions have made the game quite enjoyable.
