Crysis 2 won't be breaking any boundaries.

The boys over at Nvidia have been promoting Crysis 2 for a while now, and now that a gameplay demo is seeing the light of day for pc gamers, they've gone out of their way to see just what it will take to run the upcoming crysis 2.
Nvidia ran the benchmark with 8800GT, GTX 260, 460, 560 Ti, 570 and the 580 paired up with Core i7-960, 6GB of DDR3 memory and Windows 7-64-bit OS. The 8800GT was enough to score just above 30fps at 1680x1050 on medium (Advanced) settings.
This is not news to me, I figured as much after playing the demo. While the graphics look great, they sure aren't the "next level" graphics we expect from crytek.  While this is due to the fact that it is, essentially, a console port, they're still trying to please pc fans.

The fact that an 8800gt will run the game fine on medium settings, it makes me happy, and depressed at the same time. While this means more and more people will be able to enjoy the game, it also means that Crytek isn't pushing the boundaries of pc graphics, as they did with the original Crysis. Crysis 1 set the standard for pc graphics, it really was breath taking when it launched, however it would appear that Crytek aren't going the same route with the new Cryengine 3.  While it will be a stunning looking game, it still isn't what we would expect from the boys at Crytek.

I made a quick, shitty video for the MP beta if you'd like to see "hardcore" graphics. You can see it here:

Very disappointing. I think the demo's graphics are actually pretty bad? Metro 2033 beats it hands down.

BF3 looks like it gonna look way better, and I can only imagine what 4a is cooking up for metro 2034,as for crysis,do the graphics really matter if the game still sucks.

The horrible part is,that if they would have made crysis 2 like they did crysis 1 PC games sales would have been triple what they are going to be, and would easily counter what console sales are going to be. I mean Xbox owners didn't even really appreciate the crysis 2 demo all they do is bitch and complain. I hate these companies selling out for consoles. Its funny everyone friend who I have shown what PC gaming is, has made the switch. I wish everyone else would.
