Screw the GTX 280, I'm gettin' on of these

Hell yes, I just ordered the Nvidia GeForce 9900 GTX. It's 72 inches long, that's 293 centimeters for the rest of the world.

Um, wtf is this thing?

Seriously, I have recieved a ton of e-mails asking about the GTX 280 and the truth is that I don't know how fast it is... I read some online reviews but I haven't waved it around on a web video yet... maybe soon...

I have also read some really impressive benchmarks from the Radeon 4870 card. It beat the GTX 280 in Crysis and a couple of other games. So, it looks like the race is closer this time.

I'll get some reviews online soon... All I can tell you now is that the Radeon 4870 is a monster, uses GDDR5, but has some heating issues. And the GTX 280 recieved the highest score that PC Gamer has ever given to a graphics card...

Let me know if you have benchmarked one of these in your rig.

I was actually astonished when I saw the benchmarks for the 4850 and 4870 cards. I was planning to purchase a GTX 280, but after surfing the interbutts, I've migrated to ATi. Can't wait for the X2 edition's, those monsters will surely give Nvidia something to think about. I even heard ATi took on 'Ray Tracing'too, I've seen some screenshots of some 3D renderings and I couldn't tell the difference between them and my front yard on a sunny day. ATi, we're proud.

I'm planning to get a 4850! Insanely cheap, best performance-to-price ratio card out there. ATi, FTW!

logan the 4870 is a beats we know but f that when the 4870 x2 comes %$^£%&$£ that will eat any competion out there. nvidia has already relased ther 280gtx and that is really close 2 the 4870 and when the x2 comes my my miricles are going to happen man.

dude, watch maxishine vid. 4870 is a great card for its price. Though the 280 has a stable fps and still beat it from 2-5fps. I know the price is bad but the 280 still has some claw for those who has the $.

I my brother just got the 4870 and for only $300 very impressed for the money 50 fps in crysis on high. But like i said very impressive card.

maxishine was comparing 20% overclocked xxx nvidia cards with a reference 4870 card. I think hes kinda fanboi.

if the 9900 GTX is 293 CM long then thats about 3 meters or 3.2808399 yards

I own 2 gtx 280's and yes they are frikkin fast im getting 43fps avg on crysis bench @ Very high settings 1680x1050 16xaa when someone beats that with 2 4870's come give me a shout, and to compare a 4870 x2 with the gtx 280 is silly its duel gpu vs single gpu, and apparently the x2 still cant play crysis at very high and with low res 1280x1024.

How the hell does that look like 5 feet, 72 inches my ass, theres no way that card is frickin 5 feet. If theres even a case out there thats even 5 feet, then holy crap...
